Gardening and farming have always been a passion for our family. Our children, Chris and Dar, grew up on the farm helping plant and nurture their own seedlings year after year. We’ve always grown our own veggies and shared our harvest with friends and family, but in 1979, after Carlis was laid off from Chrysler we decided just maybe we could take our passion and make it more of a sustainable business. That year we raised our very first greenhouse, a 24’ x 96’ structure. Well really we only raised half of it that year, but by the following year we had done well enough to erect the other half! Over the years we’ve been extremely blessed with an abundance of customers that love what we do as much as we do, and we currently have 7 greenhouses on our Hancock County property.
All plants are fresh and grown on-site. We pride ourselves on knowing our products inside and out. If there is something special you’d like, we’re happy to plant it for you. We even grow starts for our truck patch farmers (with your seeds or ours). We plant year round to keep up with each season’s demand, but our busiest seasons are spring and winter.
At Brawner’s, our customers mean the world to us. They are the reason we do what we do year after year. We love that many of our customers first visited us a children with their parents and now they come out to see us with their own children. For us it’s all about tradition, growing the best and providing value to the people we serve with our products. To us our customers are just like family.
